Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ACTIVE INFRARED RAY IMAGE GUIDANCE OF MISSILE USING COORDINATE INFORMATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3685406
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further increase the guiding accuracy of a missile to a heat source target by infrared ray guidance, provide high guiding accuracy also for a non-heat source target and a low infrared ray radiating target as in the heat source target, and enable the guidance of the missile by the infrared ray guidance simultaneously for a large number of targets mixed with each other.
SOLUTION: A specific identifiable heat pattern is heated and transferred to a remote target by laser radiation, the heat pattern is treated for identification by imaging with infrared ray, and short pulse laser beam on the same axis as in the laser radiation is radiated to the target. By receiving the reflected light of the laser beam, the distance of the heat pattern can be measured to specify the coordinates thereof, and the missile is guided to the remote target based on the image-treated image information on the heat pattern and the coordinate information on the heat pattern.
