Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce trouble of calculation and memory requirements by coupling a quantized error signal and a prediction coefficient and making coded audio signal.
SOLUTION: A signal processing unit 10 makes a set of a quantized frequency sub-band signal using a quantized frequency sub-band error signal E(k). Each signal is applied to a filter bank 11, and the bank 11 makes a quantized time region signal adapting a discrete cosine conversion inversely corrected for each signal. This signal is applied to a long period prediction value tool 12, but this tool 12 receives an audio input signal (x) also. The prediction value tool 12 eliminates redundant component in an audio signal existing in the present frame based on data previously quantized using the long period prediction value. A quantized error signal and a prediction coefficient A are coupled by a bit stream multiplexer 5, and transmitted through a transmitting channel 6.
