To provide a method and a device for communication which transfers a received facsimile picture to an electronic mail destination designated by facsimile equipment on the transmission side.

When a signal transmitted from facsimile equipment is terminated, a voice guidance 1 is sent to facsimile equipment. When a CNG signal is received from facsimile equipment, print processing is performed; and when a DTMF signal (tone signal) is received, code analysis of the reception signal is performed, and a character string obtained by converting the DTMF signal to a transfer destination electronic mail address is stored. Parsing of the converted character string is performed; and if the transfer destination electronic mail address is normal, a facsimile picture is converted into an electronic mail data form and is stored after being received. That is, the reception picture is converted into binary data in a picture file form and is converted into character string data of Base 64. The facsimile picture converted into the electronic mail data form is transmitted to the transfer destination electronic mail address.
