Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate an effect of the change of an inclined angle for material to be machined of a plasma torch and to control the height of the torch to a preset value in machining the material to be machined by the plasma torch.
CONSTITUTION: The torch 1 fitted with nonconsumable electrodes 1a is arranged vertically to the material 2 to be machine and moved at the constant speed, the voltage between the electrodes in accordance with the height of the torch 1 is measured and a reference value is set. The change of the voltage between the electrodes in accordance with the change of the inclined angle for the material 2 to be machined of the torch 1 is measured and a correction value is set. The actual voltage between the electrodes is measured by a measuring part 26, the measured voltage between the electrodes is corrected by the correction value and compared with the reference value or the reference value is corrected by the correction value and compared with the measured voltage between the electrodes, by which the height of the torch 1 is controlled by driving a torch vertically moving device 6 so that both are coincident with each other.
