Abstract:

PURPOSE: To maintain high quality and reduce burden on a drive source for traversing by decreasing reversal movement in traversing and preventing the damage of an unwound wire.
CONSTITUTION: The position of a wire 2 unwound from an unwinding bobbin 1 is sensed by a wire position sensor 7 consisting of three photo-electric sensors 9, 10, 11, and the operating speed of a driving mechanism 5 is controlled in accordance with the sensing result, i.e., whether the traversing speed is lower than the payoff position shift speed or higher, or they are identical substantially. Thereby the position of a wire guide 3 is corrected so that the wire payoff angle is held constant always to 90deg. to the axis of the unwinding bobbin 1. The corrected value for the traversing speed corresponding to the winding pitch on the payoff bobbin ins determined on the basis of the traversing speed correcting result to be done while this wire position control is performed for the first layer on the unwinding bobbin 1 or from the first till some subsequent layers, and for the layers thereafter the operating speed of the driving mechanism is controlled so that the unwinding is conducted while traversing is made according to this corrected value.
