To respectively correct the color balance of source image expressed source image information into proper color balance concerning various source images by finding a converting condition with arithmetical processing of a 1st converting condition which is found from the classified result of source images and a 2nd converting condition found from plural source images, and converting the source image information on this converting condition.
At a control circuit in this device, a 1st converting condition setting means 210 sets the 1st converting condition for correcting the color balance of film image, expressed by image data for condition setting which is outputted from a colorless data inverse conversion means 208 into a proper color balance, based on these image data. A 2nd converting condition setting means 214 sets the 2nd converting condition, based on the information of a large number of film images stored in a converting condition storage means 212. A converting condition determining means 216 determines the color balance converting condition by deciding weight to the respective 1st and 2nd converting conditions.
