To arrange a heating means in the position of a heating line even when object steel sheet of bending is deviated.
A laser displacement sensor is installed in a required place of an automatic steel sheet bending apparatus with which linear heating is performed by performing NC control of the heating means and a control section for input its detected signal is included. In the control part, the position of the object steel sheet of bending is determined by making a base coordinate system to be set on a surface plate scan with the laser displacement sensor, while creating an NC program in accordance with the position of the heating line to be arranged on the basis of a required heating program by a work coordinate system which is set on the object steel sheet of bending. Next, after replacing the position of the heating means by the NC program about the work coordinate system with the base coordinate system by setting the amount of the original point shift of the work coordinate system to the base coordinate system on the basis of the position information of the object steel sheet of bending, the linear heating is carried out by performing the NC control of the heating means. After that, the position of the object steel sheet of bending is redetected at a required frequency with the laser displacement sensor and the amount of the original point shift of the work coordinate system is successively updated.
