Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a noise component by improving the sharpness of an edge with image correction at once.
SOLUTION: The contrast of an original image around a notice pixel is calculated (step S2) and a mixing ratio of a corrected value to a weight mean value is decided depending on the contrast (step S3). Density data (corrected value) closest to density data of a notice pixel are extracted from adjacent pixel groups to the notice pixel, the weight mean value of the density data of the notice pixel and the density data of surrounding pixels is calculated (steps S4, S5), the result of mixing the corrected value and the weighted mean value at the decided mixing ratio is used for pixel density data of the corrected image of the notice pixel and the result is stored in a correction image memory (step S6). Each pixel of the original image is selected sequentially for the notice pixel and the density data of each pixel of the corrected image are found to obtain a corrected image (steps S1, S7, S8).
