To provide a method and a device for correcting the meandering of a belt conveyor by easily and reliably improving the meandering corrective force of a return side belt in an endless conveying belt having a carrier side belt and a return side belt.
The device for correcting the meandering of the belt conveyor comprises a belt aligning mechanism 30 for correcting the return side belt meandering which is installed in a forward/backward turnable manner in a direction parallel to the advancing direction Q of a return side belt 1b, a pair of displacement means 41 which are pressed against a carrier side belt 1a and displaced by the meandering of the carrier side belt 1a, and a turn assist mechanism 40 having a turning force transmitting means for independently turning the belt aligning mechanism 30 by transmitting the meandering direction moving force of the carrier side belt 1a by the displacement of the displacement means 41 to the belt aligning mechanism 30. A return side belt meandering corrective capacity of the belt aligning mechanism 30 is increased by also performing the turn of the belt aligning mechanism 30 for correcting the return side belt meandering by the meandering force of the carrier side belt 1a.
