PURPOSE: To separate shielding-layer fine wires eliably and easily on the site, by rotating a shielded wire in the direction of strand of the fine wires and by brushing the end parts while rotating the shielded wire reciprocatively.
CONSTITUTION: A shielded wire 1 of which a shielding layer 3 in the terminal part is exposed is so supported horizontally substantially that the exposed end part projects. The end of the exposed shielding layer 3 is held lightly, and the shielded wire 1 is rotated in the twisting direction of fine stranded wires 3a of shielding-layer around the axial line of the wire, while controlling the rotation of the shielding layer 3 in the part of the end thereof. In this way, the strand of the shielding-layer fine wires is removed. Subsequently, the exposed terminal part of the shielding wire 1 is brushed from both right and left sides downward while the wire is rotated clockwise and counterclockwise around the axial line thereof. Thereby the fine stranded wires 3a in the exposed terminal part can be separated surely and easily from cores 2 on the spot where the shielding layer is exposed, without conveying the shielded wire 1.
