Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance speed of retrieval of a target character string by successively narrowing extraction intervals so that a batch-displayed group of character strings is nearer to a target word when the objective character string is not in the batch- displayed group of character strings.
CONSTITUTION: A word selection part 3 is provided with a varying means 5 varying a word and the extracting intervals to be the reference of extraction and an extracting means 6. On the other hand, a setting part 7 is provided with a numeric device for intervals 9 to which a numeric corresponding to the intervals of the words, that is the extracting intervals of the words, to be displayed at a display part 4 is set, a numeric device for a reference word 10 to which the numeric of a word which is the nearest to a word to be the reference of extraction, that is the target word, is set, and a numeric device for a display position 11 setting what number-ed position from the top of the display part 4 the word to be the reference is displayed at. Then, the group of character strings is extracted at prescribed extracting intervals and batch-displayed on the display part 4 and when the target character string is not in this batch-displayed group of character strings, the operation of successively narrowing the extracting interval is repeated so that the group of the character string batch-displayed on the display part is nearer to the target word.
