Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct reproduction and trimming of a print image with high accuracy by ensuring a projected area of a film original onto an image sensor as large as possible so as to maximize the utility of a read picture element.
SOLUTION: An optical magnification of a zoom lens is set so that a projected image of a film original image to be masked is circumscribed with a valid picture element area of an image sensor. An output picture element area required to record at a prescribed picture element density is decided by taking a margin of preset output into account based on the print size. An input picture element area is decided by obtaining a condition that a mask aperture area is inscribed with the valid picture element area. Both picture element areas are corrected by taking a picture element defect by image processing into account. A segmentation picture element area to segment a correction output picture element area from the valid picture element area is decided so that the correction output picture element area is inscribed with the correction input picture element area. Then the output picture element area is corrected again to obtain a print of an image of the picture element of the segmented picture element area.
