A liquid crystal driving display device is provided with a liquid crystal panel 1 where plural liquid crystal cells which are switched to light transmission/non-transmission by using the electrooptic property of liquid crystal that the polarization state of transmitted light is changed by an applied voltage are two-dimensionally arranged as unit picture elements and display of at least a character and a picture is controlled by a driving voltage, a liquid crystal panel driving circuit 2 which provides a mask period when the liquid crystal panel is set to the non-display state not to display picture disorder or the like at the time of power-on/off, and a system controller 6 which controls the liquid crystal panel 1 and the liquid crystal panel control circuit 2.
