Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent pre-echo generation with a fixed block length while using a spectral transformation processing with high encoding efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: To input signal waveforms (A), the rectification window function of (B) is multiplied, blocking is performed, segmentation is performed, gain control is performed by the gain control function of (C) and modified discrete cosine transformation (MDCT) is perforemd. For the gain control function, when an attack is present in the second half part of a previous block which is the overlapping part of the previous block to a present block, the gain control function of the part is brought to a first half part which is the overlapping part of the present block as it is or after it is multiplied by a constant number.
