PURPOSE: To enlarge an image with clipping without changing an enlargement ratio by setting the start coordinate of an source image from an integer component and a decimal component and independently setting the length of a destination image and the number of developing picture elements.
CONSTITUTION: The arbitrary value of the start coordinate of one raster 301 on the source image can be set by the integer component and the decimal component in such a way that the start coordinate which does not come to be the usual integer of the raster 301 on the source image corresponding to the start coordinate of one raster 401 on the destination image at the time of clipping is accurately given. When there is clipping, the length of one raster 401 on the destination image and the number of the developing picture elements in a clipping area, both of which come to be different values, can independently be set. Thus, clipped destination image can be developed without the change of the enlargement ratio.
