To provide a method and device for evaluating rolling bearing by which the contact angle of a preloaded rolling bearing can be found with accuracy.
At the time of finding the contact angle of the preloaded rolling bearing, measurement of at least one of the natural frequencies of the bearing in the angular direction and in the radial direction and the coupled natural frequency of the two frequencies is measured in addition to the natural frequency of the bearing in the axial direction, and the frequency ratio between the measured natural frequencies is found. Then the contact angle is found from a profound relation between the frequency ratio and contact angle. In addition, the preload imparted to the bearing is found from the rigidity of the bearing in the axial direction found from the natural frequency of the bearing in the axial direction. Therefore, the preload imparted to the rolling bearing can be found with accuracy.
