To provide a method and a device for feeding a plurality of yarns to a textile machine so that the absorbed length of each yarn (i.e. LFA) is constant during manufacturing time of a plurality of products of the same type or yarns fed to the textile machine have constant values of absorbed length, in a form of control by a yarn feeding control device.
In the method for feeding the plurality of yarns with constant values of fed length to the textile machine 5, each yarn 2 is unwound from a spool 1 and cooperates with a usual feed device 4 arranged to maintain the tension of the yarn 2 at a predefined constant value before being directed to the textile machine 5, and at least one control means 6 for controlling the feed to the textile machine 5 is provided. An absorbed yarn length value to be maintained for each yarn 2 fed to the textile machine 5 is set, an actual value of the yarn length effectively absorbed by the textile machine 5 is measured, and the set yarn length value is compared with the actual value. When these values are different from each other, a tension value of the corresponding yarn 2 is modified by the feed device 4. This tension modification makes these absorbed yarn length values equal to a predefined value.
