PURPOSE: To make a device compact and packing uniform by blowing molding sand from the hollow parts of upper pressurizing segments to a pattern surface then actuating said segments and a lower pressurizing head thereby pressurizing and molding the sand from both top and bottom surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: A casting flask 6 is fixed between additional flasks 15 and 16 and the vertical position of a pattern mounting board 20 is adjusted. After molding sand 7 is supplied from a supply device 23 into a storage hopper 12, a pressurizing head 2 is lowered by an upper pressurizing cylinder 1 and plural upper pressurizing segments 3 are lowered onto a pattern 4. The sand 7 in a hopper is blown through the hollow parts of the segments 3 to the surface of the pattern 4 by the compressed air blown through a feed port 22 and thereafter the sand 7 is pressurized and molded from both top and bottom surfaces by the descending operation of the segments 3 and the ascending operation of a pressurizing head 19 by a lower pressurizing cylinder 18. The molding sand is thus uniformly packed and the device is made compact.
