To provide a method for generating a cover sheet to be transmitted to a reception facsimile system by providing a step for generating a facsimile cover sheet and the step for attaching the facsimile cover sheet to a facsimile document.

This method is provided with the step for generating the facsimile cover sheet and the step for attaching the facsimile cover sheet to the facsimile document. A facsimile system 10 usable for generating the facsimile cover sheet is indicated as a dedicated or stand-alone facsimile system for which an internal processor (CPU) 14 is connected through a bus 18 to a memory 16.
