Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a system identification method and device in which an accurate filter coefficient is updated even when noise is included.
CONSTITUTION: This device is constituted of an adaptive filter 101 processing a reference input signal 1 to obtain an output 'signal 5, a subtractor 102 subtracting the output signal 5 from an observing signal 3, a power estimate circuit 103 estimating the power of the reference input signal 1, and a step size decision circuit 104 deciding a step size based on the power of the reference input signal, and the step size decision circuit 104 generates a step size monotonously increased when the power of the reference input signal is a threshold level or below and monotonously decreased when the power of the reference input signal is a threshold level or over.
