Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the error of a coefficient value and a tap position when a signal having strong non-steadiness is inputted by stopping coefficient update and tap position adaptive control in accordance with a comparison result between an evaluation coefficient value and a previously decided threshold.
SOLUTION: A tap control circuit 91 containing an input signal evaluation circuit 170, receiving input signals from respective delay elements and evaluating them is provided. A step size is set to be zero, in accordance with an evaluation result in the input signal evaluation circuit 170 or stops tap position control. Namely, input signal samples are supplied to input terminals 9040-904N-1 provided for the tap control circuit 91 from the inputs and the outputs of the delay elements. The input signal samples are signals supplied to an adaptive filter. The tap control circuit 91 evaluates them and stops coefficient update and tap position update, when the evaluation result is smaller than the value previously decided.
