To provide a reliable method and device for inserting metal thin wires into a plate-like body, cutting the thin wires inserted into the plate-like body, and arranging a large number of the cut thin wires at a narrow pitch with high reliability.
Following processes (a) to (f) are carried out repeatedly as one cycle. A process (a) which a wire 1, whose tip hangs down near the edge of a cutter 3, is held by wire press jigs 34 and 35, and the lower end of a guide tube 2a which guides the wire 1 is made to rise, from a point near to the edge of the cutter 3 to a point at which a part of the wire 1 protruding from the lower end of the guide tube 2a becomes as long as a prescribed length; a process (b) of dropping down the guide tube 2a and the cutter 3 together till the lower end of the guide tube 2a approaches the cutter 3; a process (c) of dropping the wire 1, the guide tube 2a, and the cutter 3 at the same time, to plunge the wire 1 into the plate-like body; a process (d) of cutting off the wire 1; a process (e) of raising the cutter 3, the wire 1, and the guide tube 2a at the same time; and a process (f) of transferring the plate-like body at a prescribed pitch horizontal direction.
