Abstract:
PURPOSE: To quantitatively and accurately measure the adhering state of a hot-melt-spray-coating to a base material.
CONSTITUTION: A striker 4 gives a blow to the surface of a hot-melt-spray- coating 1b and a probe sensor 7 attached to a probe 5 which is always brought into contact with the surface of the coating 1b receives pressure waves generated by the blow and propagated through the coating 1b. The adhering state of the coating to a base material is discriminated from the magnitude of the energy of the pressure waves received by the sensor 7.
