Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnifying method and a magnifying device of the mode field diameter of a multiple optical fiber by which the specified range of the optical fiber is uniformly heated by batch heating by which the TEC processing of the multiple optical fiber is performed.
SOLUTION: By the magnifying method of the mode field diameter of the multiple optical fiber, the batch heating of the multiple optical fiber 11 where a plurality of optical fibers are arrayed in one parallel line is performed by a burner 17, so that dopant added to a core part is diffused by heat, and flame blow-in preventive members 16 are arranged on both sides of the multiple optical fiber 11, and heating is performed. Also, the burner 17 where a plurality of gas exhaust nozzles 18 are arrayed on a heating surface in the axial direction of the multiple optical fiber and also the plurality of gas exhaust nozzles 18 are arrayed in a plurality of rows in parallel with the axial direction of the optical fiber is used.
