Abstract:
PURPOSE: To substantially reduce a time required for manufacturing a K-type file and a dental reamer by manufacturing all flute parts having a pertinent taper state and the accurate number of helixes concurrently at one machining process. CONSTITUTION: A raw material 1 is fed along a direction toward a grinder wheel 2 rotted by such a means as a guide screw and at the same time formed to be capable of rotating. A distance for the feed of the raw material 1 on the rotation of a screw is expressed as L. A polishing surface has three ribs thereon, and a relationship between the distance L and an inter-rib distance D is established as L=D×Nf . Furthermore, a difference in height between adjacent ribs is calculated as ΔH=T×D/2, where T is a taper required for an appliance like a K-file, and D is a gap between adjacent ribs. In addition, a grindstone dresser 4 is provided for maintaining the polishing surface of the grinder wheel 2 at the required constant shape. As a result, a manufacturing time can be reduced at least to 2/3 of the case of any known manufacturing method.
