To provide a method for moving a doctor blade arranged to face the cylinder of a printer, by which high printing quality is achieved while making the wear of the doctor blade uniform and less as much as possible, and a printer for carrying out this method.
In the method for moving the doctor blade 26 arranged to face the cylinder 10 of a printer in the longitudinal direction, the doctor blade 26 moves at a moving speed of 0 to 0.1 m/s, or 0 to 0.01 m/s in particular for most of the printing working time, and the printer having a doctor blade assembly 24 is equipped with a doctor blade 26 adjusted to be arranged to face the cylinder 10 and a moving mechanism 38 for moving the doctor blade 26 in the longitudinal direction, the moving mechanism 38 being adapted to carry out the method.
