Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a disk storage device able to be quickly positioned without requiring a countermeasure against an error based on breakdown of an address detection member even in the case of breakdown of this member in a disk changer.
SOLUTION: A repeat form at prescribed intervals of a waveform generation member which is moved in accordance with movement of the disk storage device, is detected to form a repeat waveform PH1 repeated in accordance with the extent of movement of the storage device, and the storage device is positioned on the basis of the counted value of the repeat frequency of this repeat waveform (steps 41 to 50). If an abnormal part exists in this repeat waveform in this case, a range of the counted value corresponding to this abnormal part is detected (steps 51 to 63 and 41 to 49), and thereafter, this range of the counted value is excluded from the object of counting for positioning.
