Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRESS FEEDING OF CASTABLE REFRACTORIES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63154258
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To take full advantage of the characteristics of castable refractories by changing a pipe into an annular chamber part between the inside wall of a ladle and core for lining and press-feeding an packing the refractories into the space part through the pipe while swiveling and rising the pipe, thereby forming a lining body without contg. air bubbles.

CONSTITUTION: While the press-feeding pipe 1 is swiveled by the operation of a swivel ing device 2, the castable refractory raw material is charged into a mixer 11 from a container pack 12 and the kneaded, and the raw material is discharged into a hopper 10. The castable refractories are press-fed in this state from the top end of the pipe 1 by operating a press-feed pump 8. The refractories A are supplied to the entire circumference in the bottom of the annular space part C as the pipe 1 swivels. A lifting device 3 is operated to start rising of the pipe 3 when the application surface A' slightly exceeds a supply port 1a at the bottom end of the pipe 1. The refractoies are thereafter press-fed and packed to the entire part of the space part C while the swiveling and rising of the pipe 1 are continued in such a manner that the supply port 1a at the bottom end of the press-feeding pipe is always placed under the surface A'. The intrusion of the air into the refractories at the time of packing is, therefore, obviated.
