Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing error propagation in decision feedback equalizer.SOLUTION: In a method and a device related to hybrid decision feedback equalization, a correction term is used for compensating slicer error, thus avoiding error propagation. Filter coefficients related to an equalizer include a correction term as a function of energy of filter coefficients, and are selected for minimizing the cost function related to the equalizer. The equalizer includes a coefficient generator responding to the correction term. A transmitted symbol is estimated from a sample that is received as a function of the signal interface and noise ratio (SINR) of a received sample. The received samples are quantized, and mapped to a region of a grid overlayed on a transmitted symbol constellation. The region corresponds to the symbol estimate, or is processed furthermore for obtaining the symbol estimate.
