PURPOSE: To eliminate manual taking off of a packing material from a rolled body by a method wherein an end surface packing material and a protecting material of the rolled body are taken off from the rolled body by means of a fastener device.
CONSTITUTION: In the case that a protecting material 4 and an end surface packing material 3a are removed simultaneously from a rolled body on which an outside of the protecting material 4 is covered with the end surface packing material 3a, an opening/closing nail 24 of a fastener device 20 is plunged into the end surface packing material 3a and inserted into the protecting material 4, and then the opening/closing nail 24 is opened and retreated, whereby the end surface packing material 3a and the protecting material 4 can be removed simultaneously from a rolled body 1. In order to remove the end surface packing material 3a and the protecting material 4 from the opening/closing nail 24, at first, the fastener device is rotated up to its middle position and declined downward by a rotary actuator 33 at the position, so that the protecting material 4 can drop down. Then, the fastener device 20 which now holds only the end surface material 3a is rotated to its end surface material exhausting position, where the end surface packing material 3a is removed from the opening/closing nail 24 by means of a packing material removing frame 58.
