Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform various kinds of retrieval of an enciphered file while keeping security.
SOLUTION: An enciphered file 2 is composed of the set of records having plural items and among the plural items, a key item to become a key in the case of retrieval is enciphered at least. An expanding means 11 of a retrieving device 1 deciphers the key item of each of records in the enciphered file 2 at least and expands it in a work area 13 on a main storage after adding an identifier showing the record, in which the key item is contained. A retrieving means 12 retrieves the key item, which satisfies retrieval conditions applied from a user, on the work area 13 and when retrieval is made successful, the relevant original record is read out of the enciphered file 2, deciphered and presented to the user. Since deciphered data are expanded on the main storage, which can not be accessed from the outside of a computer, security can be kept and since the retrieval is performed in the state of deciphering the key item, various kinds of retrieval such as partial coincidence retrieval can be performed.
