To prevent a volatile grease from mixing into sintering exhaust gas by laying metallic waste stuck with grease component, on a sintering raw material layer supplied and ignited in a sintering machine, igniting the metallic waste and burning the volatile grease component in the combustion gas of the combustion material at a sintering combustion zone.
The metallic waste 17 from a metallic waste supplying device 13 is beforehand ignited with an ignition furnace 14 for sintering raw material at the upstream side and laid on the upper part of the sintering raw material 16 piled in the inner part of the sintering combustion zone 18. Successively, the metallic waste 17 is ignited with the ignition burner 15 for metallic waste and burnt. In this way, a large part of grease component stuck to the metallic waste 17 is burnt, but unburning volatile grease component is sucked together with the sintering exhaust gas and passed through the sintering combustion zone 18, and at this time, since the unburning volatile grease component is perfectly burnt, the volatiling grease component can not be mixed in the sintering exhaust gas. Therefore, there is no fear that the firing caused by the grease component occurs in an electric dust collector 21.
