Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a destination promptly by displaying an object including an entry list, and an object including character slots and character spaces, and selecting an entry stressed from the entry list.
SOLUTION: A graphical user interface(GUI) 200 displays part of a city list corresponding to a city table consisting of the data in the map database of a system, including a city list window 202. The city list window 202 displayed first is active, and the first numerical entry in the city list is displayed in the order of alphameric characters and the latest selected city is displayed in an italic type. A user can select a desired city promptly without searching it in the list. A GUI 200 involves a selected window 204, which enables the user to input alphameric characters when it is active. It is thus possible to select an entry by moving the city list in the city list window 202.
