PURPOSE: To set the amt. of molten metal to be supplied to a die casting machine to an optimum amt. by inputting the shape of a charging ladle and a desired rate of charging into a setter.
CONSTITUTION: In a charger for a die casting machine which sets the rate of charging with the angle of inclination of a ladle, the rate of stroke of a stopper 58, that is, its dynamic displacement is detected and the data is fed back to a comparing operator 96 which compares this with the rate of the charging stroke (static displacement) read out and inputted with a charging stroke reader 90. While the rate of dynamic displacemant does not attain the prescribed rate of static displacement, a motor driving circuit 92 operates to drive a torque motor 66, thereby moving a stopper 58 in an axial direction. When the rate of dynamic displacement arrives at the prescribed rate of static displacement, a signal is fed from the operator 96 to a motor driving circuit 92, by which the motor 66 is stopped instantaneously, then the stopper 58 stops at the prescribed displacement position read out beforehand with the reader 90. Hence, the setting of the desired rate of charging is realized by regulating the angle of inclination of a plate-like arm 56.
