Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION FOR REFERENCE OSCILLATOR IN COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3187341
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate a temperature of a reference signal oscillator for a communication equipment properly with a simple configuration.
SOLUTION: An output frequency of a reference signal oscillator 118 in a communication equipment like a radio telephone set is controlled by applying temperature compensation to the reference oscillator 118. At the start point of manufacture time, characteristic data are stored in a nonvolatile memory 128 of the communication equipment 100. When the output power of the communication equipment 100 is increased, the characteristic data are read and used to provide initial correction of an output frequency of the reference oscillator 118. Then an RF signal received from a remote transmitter is used for a reference signal to conduct automatic frequency control. The frequency correction depends on a frequency step size and a form in a step direction. The output frequency of the reference oscillator is repetitively stepped up/down till the frequency error is minimized.
