Abstract:
To provide a method and a device for treating scraps to wind up steel scraps which are continuously generated by the side trimming of a metal strip of a thin steel plate, an aluminum plate or the like.
In the scrap winding by a winding device comprising a mandrel which is arranged on the downstream side of a side trimmer to trim both ends of a metal strip to wind scraps trimmed by the side trimmer, a bearing to support the mandrel, and an evacuation mechanism to evacuate the mandrel after winding the scraps, when the mandrel is fitted to the bearing to wind up a new scrap after drawing the wound scrap, foreign matters deposited on the surface of the mandrel are removed by spraying lubricating oil on the surface of the mandrel.
