Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for ventilation which achieve the equilibrium of the ventilation and air of pocket spaces with smaller air flow and change the pressure level of the negative pressure generated at the outlet nip of wire guide rolls.
CONSTITUTION: In the ventilation method of the pocket spaces T in the multi- cylinder drying machine of a high-speed paper making machine having a traveling speed higher than 800 m per minute in a twin-wire draw region, a pocket ventilating device 20 is disposed in the traveling regions from the wire guide rolls 13 and 14 to the next cylinders 11 and 12, and the pumping delivery through the wires F1 and F2 during traveling is limited as compared with free pumping-in and pumping-out, by which the pressure level and/or the flow status in the pocket spaces is controlled. The air supplied to one air chamber 22 of a pocket blasting device 20 is blown as the blast to the negative pressure nips N13 and N14 of the guide rolls 13 and 14 to limit the pumping through the wires. The air supplied to another air chamber 21 is blown to the surfaces of the guide rolls 13 and 14 and is replaced with a part of the moist air coming from the surfaces of the cylinders, by which the profile is corrected.
