Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the influence of ultraviolet rays to skin by examining the behavior of elastase before and after the ultraviolet rays are emitted to the skin.
SOLUTION: Elastase is protease with combination organization protein such as elastin as a specifical substrate and includes pancreas elastase and leukocyte elastase. Proelastase that is its precursor becomes elastase and is activated when terminal amino acid comes of due to tryptophan. The concentration of elastase increases as leukocyte becomes wet due to, for example, inflammation. When the activity of elastase of the skin increases by applying ultraviolet rays A, it is judged that an undesirable influence such as light aging is given to the skin by the ultraviolet rays A, and the influence becomes larger, as the increase is more extreme. Therefore, the protection operation of ultraviolet rays A and the prevention effect of light aging of the subject are examined depending on how much the elastase activity increasing due to the application of the ultraviolet rays A can be suppressed by medication to the subject.
