PURPOSE: To produce the green compact of the powder of ceramic or metal which is not warped and excellent in dimensional accuracy by extrusion by using a die of simple structure capable of being adjusted at any time.

CONSTITUTION: A raw powder and a binder consisting essentially of a high molecular compd. are mixed, kneaded and pelletized, and a green compact is obtained by extrusion from the pellets using the extrusion die 3. A flow straightening piece (flow straightening plate 5) such as plate, rod, tube and curved plate for dividing the passage in a passage part 11 of the die 3 or for partly suppressing the flow of a fluid is arranged in the die, the flow straightening plate is displaced by a control screw 6, and the ratio of the cross- sectional area of the passage or the position of the flow straightening piece is changed. A ceramic or metal powder is extruded using this die.
