Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain high waving accuracy by using a simple process, in a short processing time and at a low cost in the method for waving working of a core plate of a wet frictional material.
SOLUTION: A main punch 11 and a counter punch 12 presses and compresses a ring-shaped core plate 8, gives wavy shapes to the core plate, and three fine projections 14 which are provided on each vertex of the wave shapes of the punches bite into the core plate 8 like (a). Three notches 15 are carved in each place corresponding to the fine projections 14, and a plastic flow of the surface layer is produced as shown by the arrows by local compression by the notches 15 in the process of further pressing and compressing the core plate and waves having the notches 15 as the vertex are worked like (b). The notches 15 are carved in seven places respectively on the front and the back surfaces of the core plate 8 and seven waves are formed on the whole of the core plate 8 like (c). Since the notches 15 are carved on the front and the back surfaces of these waves, these waves are formed with high accuracy without causing a "return" phenomena observed in the conventional cold working method.
