Abstract:

To enable tomographic images to be followed and calibrated, which are generated during a movement of an optical coherence tomography catheter along its longitudinal direction.

A method is provided for displaying the tomographic images of a lumen (8) by using an optical coherence tomography. In the method, a scanning head (7) having the catheter (6) is inserted into the lumen (8) to be scanned with light, and the vicinity of the scanning head (7) is displayed by the tomographic images based on interferences and their intensities detected between measurement light and reference light, and a display scale is varied by changes in an optical path length in the catheter (6) caused by the movement of the catheter (6), and the changes in the optical path length of the measurement light during the movement of the catheter (6) are electronically acquired and automatically compensated.
