Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for dissolving a spent catalyst completely and efficiently in the case of dissolving the spent catalyst wherein alumina is mainly incorporated in a carrier.
CONSTITUTION: Deoiling treatment is previously performed for a spent catalyst in accordance with necessity. Thereafter, the spent catalyst is roasted at the temperature not lower than the temperature wherein any one of oil, sulfur or carbon remaining in the spent catalyst is ignited and burned at the temperature not higher than 1000°C. Then, metal for a dissolving catalyst is added to the obtained burned material and dissolved by sulfuric acid.
