Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restore a picture having a gradation regardless of the uneven density of a picture as the processing object.
CONSTITUTION: Respective constituting picture elements of a variable density picture 1 are successively noticed in all of rows in the column direction from the position of m=0 and n=0, and the density state of the picture is detected by picture element data of picture elements 3, 4, and 5 around each noticed picture element 2. A dither matrix corresponding to the detected value is selected from plural preliminarily prepared dither matrixes, and picture data of each noticed picture element 2 is subjected to dither processing by the selected dither matrix to binarize the variable density picture.
