To enable paste applied by printing to be dried rapidly and uniformly and yet with simple temperature control by heating a plate-shaped product itself by way of radiation heat supply means, while keeping the surface temperature of the plate-shaped product under the paste hardening temperature by cooling wind.
A plurality of far-infrared-ray heaters 5 are installed on the upper part of a drying room. The far-infrared-ray heaters 5 have heat-generating surfaces on surfaces opposed to a plate-shaped product W. A cooling air duct 6 is provided above the far-infrared-ray heaters 5, and cooling air from a blower 11 is supplied to the cooling air duct 6 through flow-rate control valves 13 after being cleaned with a filter 12 to be blown through gaps among the far- infrared-ray heaters 5 onto the surface of the plate-shaped product W as a cooling wind. In this way, it is possible to smoothly perform drying by heating the plate-shaped product W itself while cooling the surface of paste. In addition, strict temperature control becomes unnecessary.
