To provide a method for drying seeds in high operation efficiency and low cost by preventing the lowering of germination activity of the seed, or the collapse and peeling of the coating layer of the seed after coating.
Hot air generated with a duct heater 2 is passed though a damper chamber 3, introduced into a seed container 5 having a wire net at the bottom and passed through the seeds from under to continuously blow up the seedlings into the drying chamber 6 placed above the seedling container 5. The seedlings are agitated in the drying chamber and quickly and uniformly dried. The lowering of the germination power of the seeds is prevented by controlling the hot air with a damper 4 and temperature sensors 14, 15 at the inlet of the seed container and the upper part of the drying chamber and the collapse and peeling of the coating layer are prevented by controlling an escape valve 8 to perform the drying under optimum floating and agitating state. The drying chamber can be vertically moved by turning a square female thread 12 with a lever 13.
