To provide a system for drying wastes containing moisture, requiring greatly less energy quantity (heat quantity) to be additionally supplied from the outside of the system when drying the wastes containing moisture such as sludge to produce useful materials including solid fuel.
The system comprises a dryer 7 for heating the wastes 1 containing the moisture to produce dried materials and gas containing water vapor, a compressor 9 for giving adiabatic compression to the high temperature gas containing the water vapor exhausted from the dryer 7 to produce gas whose temperature is increased by pressure rise, a gas flow passage 15 for guiding the gas exhausted from the compressor 9 to the dryer 7, and a latent heat conducting gas distribution passage 13 formed ranging from the gas flow passage 15 and arranged for heat exchange with the wastes 1 containing moisture in the dryer 7.
