Abstract:

To dry not only log but also big and heavy pulpwood or square bars so as not to be bent, efficiently dry a large amount of wood together and uniformly and rapidly dry all the wood while reducing the splits of the wood as mush as possible.

The wood is dried by irradiating the wood 1 with microwaves. While the wood 1 is suspended and moved so that a conduit is vertically positioned, the wood is irradiated with the microwaves. The heated state of the wood 1 heated by the microwaves is detected by a wood sensor 4. While the output of the microwave is controlled by the wood sensor 4, water contained in the wood 1 is made to flow down along the conduit so that the wood is dried.
