Coded data can be printed on an appropriate place on an article. A code uniguely associates stored computer data about an article accessed through the Internet with the article. When a user inputs the code to a computer, electronic data about the coded article is retrieved by accessing the code through the Internet or a similar communication network and stored in the electronic archive of the user.
