Abstract:

To surely avoid a reproduction fault in a highlight part and an intermediate part and also the reproduction fault in a shadow part, due to a change in the condition of a printing machine.

A method and equipment for controlling a printed image quality of a color printing machine are provided with a measuring means 12 for measuring a solid density and a gray balance of a color printed image, a calculating means 13 for calculating the respective differences between a solid density value and a gray balance value measured by the measuring means 12, and target values, a correction value calculating means 14 for calculating correction values on the basis of the respective differences calculated by the calculating means 13, and an ink supply amount regulating means 15 for regulating an ink supply amount for each of a plurality of ink fountain keys on the basis of the correction values calculated by the correction value calculating means 14.
