PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for heating a rod-shaped work at a high temperature in which the air in a heating furnace can be completely substituted by the inert gas in a short time, the rod-shaped work is successively fed under the atmospheric pressure while flow-in of the air is completely prevented in this condition, and the heated works at a high temperature can be taken out.
SOLUTION: Heating equipment of a rod-shaped work is provided with an upper part sealing device 12 which surrounds a suspension rod 5 and a work 6 in an airtight manner and is expandable in the vertical direction, a rod driving device 14 to elevate/lower the suspension rod 5 while the upper part sealing device 12 is expanded/contracted, upper and lower sealing devices 16a, 16b to open/close upper and lower opening parts in an airtight manner, and an evacuation device 18 to evacuate the upper side of the upper sealing device 16a. The upper part sealing device 12 in which a work is set is mounted on an upper opening part 1a in an airtight manner, the lower sealing device 16b is closed, and the upper sealing device 16b is opened. In this condition, the upper part sealing device 12 together with a high-temperature heating furnace 1 is evacuated, the furnace is heated while the inside of the furnace is purged with the inert gas, the lower part sealing device 16b is opened, and a work 6 is lowered in the furnace.
